An Inspiring Day at the MiSmile Conference & Gala 2026

On Friday 18 September 2026, I had the pleasure of attending the MiSmile Conference & Gala 2026 at the Hilton London Metropole in London.

With this year’s theme, “Human First, AI Powered,” the event brought together dental professionals from across the MiSmile community for a day of learning, networking and inspiration, exploring how technology can support modern dentistry while keeping people at the heart of the experience.

For me, it was a day filled with valuable ideas, inspiring conversations and plenty to take back to Wigmore Smiles & Aesthetics.

A day focused on the future of dentistry

The conference opened with Dr Sandeep Kumar, Founder and CEO of MiSmile, speaking on the theme of “Human First, AI Powered.”

What stood out to me was the balance between innovation and the human side of dentistry. As AI and digital technology continue to develop, it was a valuable reminder that technology works best when it supports — rather than replaces — the human relationships at the heart of a dental practice.

The wider conference followed this theme, with sessions covering areas including practice leadership, marketing, clinical development, patient experience and the role of AI within modern dental practices.

Celebrating the launch of Mastering Your Invisalign Marketing

Another exciting moment was seeing the launch of Dr Sandeep Kumar and Ali Meredith’s new book, Mastering Your Invisalign Marketing.

The book focuses on making Invisalign marketing more practical and strategic for dental practices, covering areas such as building a consistent flow of patients, creating a memorable brand, converting enquiries into booked treatments and using data to understand marketing performance.

Having followed the growth of the MiSmile community and the emphasis it places on practice development, it was great to see these ideas brought together in a practical resource for practice owners.

Meeting Sara Davies MBE

One of the biggest highlights of the day was hearing from Sara Davies MBE.

Entrepreneur, businesswoman and former Dragons’ Den investor, Sara is the founder of Crafter’s Companion, which she started while she was still at university.

Her session, “Discover Your Inner Entrepreneur,” was energetic, honest and incredibly inspiring.

What I particularly enjoyed was how relatable Sara made entrepreneurship feel. Rather than presenting success as a straightforward journey, she spoke about the highs, the difficult moments and the importance of continuing to learn, adapt and step outside your comfort zone.

One message from her session that really stayed with me was:

“Your energy is your currency.”

That message really resonated with me as a practice owner.

The energy we bring to our practice matters

Running a dental practice is about much more than clinical care. It is also about people — our team, our patients and the environment we create every day.

The energy and attitude we bring into the practice can influence our team culture, the patient experience and the way people feel when they walk through our doors.

Sara’s message was therefore a great reminder that leadership starts with ourselves. The way we show up can have a much wider impact than we sometimes realise.

A memorable opportunity to meet Sara

Getting the opportunity to meet Sara afterwards was another special moment from the day.

It is always exciting to meet someone you have watched and admired, but it was particularly lovely to find her just as engaging and approachable in person.

It was one of those moments that makes an already memorable day even more special.

Taking inspiration back to Wigmore Smiles & Aesthetics

I came away from the MiSmile Conference feeling energised, excited and full of ideas.

The biggest takeaway for me was that growth is not simply about adopting the latest technology or following the latest business trend. It is about understanding where technology can create value while continuing to put people, relationships and patient experience first.

That is something I am looking forward to continuing to develop at Wigmore Smiles & Aesthetics.

The MiSmile Conference & Gala 2026 was about much more than dentistry. It was a day centred around people, leadership, business, innovation, ambition and community — with plenty of ideas to take away and put into practice.

I left feeling motivated, inspired and excited about what the future holds.

And I’m looking forward to putting some of those ideas into action at Wigmore Smiles & Aesthetics.
